Innovative surgery in Kielce. The patient was implanted with a stent graft designed specifically for her

A stent graft is a vascular prosthesis. As Dr. Jaroslaw Miszczuk, head of the Clinical Department of Vascular Surgery at the Regional Hospital in Kielce, explains, his team, thanks to advances in technology, instead of a stent graft with branches, inserted a stent graft with so-called "omnidirectional fenestration" for the patient.
This allowed the simultaneous supply of four arteries: the renal artery, the superior mesenteric artery and the visceral trunk. This saved the patient from a long and risky operation. After the procedure, she was able to go home from the hospital the very next day.
As Dr. Jaroslaw Miszczuk points out, this tupu surgery is recommended for patients who are too stressed to undergo aortic stenting procedures with branches. It's also a procedure for those who require a short operation time and who have some unusual anatomy that can't be addressed with mass-produced stent grafts.
