According to art. 11 sec. 7 of the Act, the minister competent for health matters has been authorized to issue a regulation specifying the scope of knowledge of the Polish language in speech and writing necessary to perform the profession of a laboratory diagnostician in the territory of the Republic of Poland by a person with the qualifications referred to in art. 11 sec. 1 and 2 of the Act, the method of conducting and confirming the positive passing of the Polish language exam, organized and carried out by the National Council of Laboratory Diagnosticians, and the template of the certificate confirming the positive passing of this exam and the amount of the exam fee.

According to art. 11 sec. 1 point 15 of the Act, a laboratory diagnostician intending to practice in the territory of the Republic of Poland is obliged to demonstrate knowledge of the Polish language in speech and writing to the extent necessary to practice this profession.

The amount of the fee for the Polish language exam has been determined on the basis of the real costs of conducting the Polish language exam, taking into account, among others, remuneration of committee members, costs of delegation of examination board members and costs of preparation of examination materials.

Therefore, the requirement to know the Polish language in speech and writing to the extent necessary to practice the profession of a laboratory diagnostician in the territory of the Republic of Poland is aimed at eliminating the risk associated with the performance of this profession by persons who do not have the appropriate qualifications and whose activities could expose citizens to loss of life or health.
