MZ appoints Team to revise standard of education for laboratory diagnosticians

An order has been published in the OJ of the Ministry of Health regarding the establishment of a Team for the development of proposals for changes in the standard of training to prepare for the profession of laboratory diagnostician. The Team will serve as an advisory and auxiliary body to the Minister of Health.
Composition of the Team
The Team will be headed by Prof. Urszula Demkow, MD, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Health. Her deputy will be Dr. Katarzyna Winsz-Szczotka, professor at the Medical University of Silesia. The Team will also include representatives of ministries, national consultants, representatives of academia and organizations related to laboratory diagnostics.
Scope of activities
- Analyzing the current educational standards,
- Alignment of educational outcomes with labor market requirements,
- Determining the professional competencies of medical analytics graduates,
- Developing changes for practical classes and apprenticeships.
The work of the Team will be completed with the submission to the Minister of Health of a proposal for changes to the educational standard, no later than December 31, 2025. The Ordinance expires on January 1, 2026.
