Due to inflation and cost increases - also of the functioning of chambers of doctors - while planning a wider range of activities of the medical self-government and increasing its activity, during the 15th National Congress of Doctors the topic of the amount of the contribution paid by members of regional chambers of doctors was raised. Delegates to the KZL recommended the Supreme Medical Council to consider the subject of the contribution. This special team set up at its first meeting.

In each district medical chamber, regardless of the number of its members, the membership fee is the same, currently it amounts to PLN 60 per month. The National Congress of Physicians decided to reduce the financial charge for the Supreme Medical Chamber (to 10%), which will slightly improve the situation of district chambers in terms of the possibility of organizing projects and supporting doctors who are members of a given chamber. However, this is not a sufficient and comprehensive solution, so the National Congress of Doctors obliged the Supreme Medical Council to analyze the issue of the fee. Therefore, the NRL established a team whose task is to develop a proposal for the amount of the contribution, giving the self-government the opportunity to respond to the needs of doctors and allowing not only to administer, but above all to act effectively on their behalf. The team will present the proposals to the Supreme Medical Council later this year.
