Before you go to the water

Individual organizers can open their bathing areas - either for the entire season or only part of it. The quality of bathing water is tested by the State Sanitary Inspectorate. You can check the test results at the Bathing Service.
Find your swimming area
As GIS explains, operation of the portal is simple. An interactive map shows all officially operating bathing sites. When you click on the bathing area of your choice, you will see a message regarding the duration of the bathing season for that area.
If the bathing area is active, i.e. the bathing season has already started in it, you can read the full version of the report containing, among other things, data on:
- water quality
- bathing infrastructure
- organizational issues related to the operation of the bathing area
If the bathing area is inactive, there will be information on the start and end of the bathing season, and a detailed report will be available when it opens.
Water tests
The State Sanitary Inspectorate conducts a water survey no earlier than 10 days before the opening of the bathing season of a given bathing site. Subsequently, the organizer conducts no fewer than three tests (for bathing areas where the bathing season does not exceed 8 weeks - no fewer than two) during the bathing season, during the period of operation of the bathing area. The interval between the surveys may not exceed one month.
Bathing water quality can be checked online from June 1 to September 30.
