The leaked data is the result of an attack by a ransomware group. The published data refers to 50,000 patients performing tests at ALAB network laboratories between 2017 and 2023. It is very possible that this is only a sample, and even more medical data may be made public.
The criminals have provided links through which two files can be downloaded. The first is 5GB of lab test results, and the second is just over 1GB of contracts, concluded by the company.
"Each test result contains personal data of the company's client such as name, surname, PESEL and address. In addition, the documents contain the name of the test ordering entity, the dates and times of the test ordering and execution, numbering to identify the test in ALAB's systems, and all test results.
The range of tests whose results have been leaked includes virtually all laboratory tests that can be performed - from hematology, biochemistry, immunochemistry, to cultures or cytology," reports the portal trustanatrzeciastrona.pl.
The hackers claim the data was made public because the company did not pay the ransom. They threaten to publish the full forty-fold dataset on the last day of the year.
So far, the laboratory network has not issued a statement on the matter.
