For 3 more years our health will be put to this test

Another time change is behind us. On Sunday we moved the hands back an hour. Those in favor of such a turnaround were happy to laze in bed an hour longer, but does it really do their bodies any good?
- Absolutely not, on the contrary! In fact, the most important thing in life is the biological clock. Controlled by sunlight, it sets our rhythm of day and night. We have our bedtimes, meal times, work times. We sit for long periods of time like... owls, or we wake up early at dawn like... larks. We know when we are most productive, and when we should "let go". Meanwhile, time changes that occur as often as twice a year cause "chaos" in general. Communicative, economic, but most of all health. During this period there are more heart attacks, cases of depression, deterioration of mood, traffic accidents caused by problems with concentration! And before the body switches its code again it needs from one to even two weeks! - stresses Bożena Janicka, president of the Healthcare Employers' Agreement.
Back in 2019, the European Parliament passed a regulation that the last change from summer to winter time would take place on October 25, 2020.Among other things, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the announced change not to be implemented. Now, according to the latest information, the clock changeover will end in 2026.
... - Until then, all that remains for us doctors is to sensitize and ask patients to take even more care of themselves during these difficult, crucial moments. Above all, they get a good night's sleep - using electronic alarm clocks , not setting their psyches to wake up before the bell rings. Upon returning from work, when it's dark outside, it's a good idea to extend the day with good, mood-enhancing light. Let's also be careful on the roads. Especially now, when the weather outside the window is unfavorable," appeals Bozena Janicka.
