- It would not have been possible to introduce such a program had it not been for the guarantee of a significant increase in health care spending, says Health Minister Katherine Jay.
- The list of free drugs for children and adolescents up to the age of 18 will include more than 2,800 drugs. For seniors over 65, on the other hand, the list will include almost 3.8 thousand free drugs, the health minister added.
Free of charge will be drugs that have been partially reimbursed so far. Among them will be the following drugs: antihistamines, hypoglycemic, hormonal, immunostimulant, immunosuppressive, ophthalmic, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, analgesic, anti-infective, anticonvulsant, used in respiratory diseases, used in arterial hypertension, used in urological diseases, used in gastrointestinal diseases or vaccines.
The prescription for free drugs is issued by a doctor or nurse. It is enough that on the prescription in the field "additional entitlement code" there is the letter "S" for seniors or "DZ" for children and adolescents, respectively.
