- There will be full access in early November for anyone interested in this vaccination," Deputy Health Minister Maciej Miłkowski said at a press conference on Thursday, when asked by reporters when updated COVID-19 vaccines will be available in Poland to protect against the latest variants of the coronavirus.

As noted by Maciej Miłkowski, the preparations are awaiting approval from the European Medicines Agency. The ministry expects this to happen on October 12.

- For the time being, patients can still get vaccinated with the vaccines according to the latest recommendation, which was issued in April, Miłkowski added.

The booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can be taken by those who are at least 6 months old and 3 months past their full vaccination. The fifth dose of COVID-19 vaccine, on the other hand, is intended for immunocompromised individuals, seniors and health care system workers.

Health Minister Katharina Sójka announced that the updated vaccine will be available to everyone, and vaccination with it will be fully voluntary.
