On June 28, the Congress of the National Secretariat of Health Care of the NSZZ "Solidarity" was held in Warsaw, with the participation of representatives of the medical profession, sanitary services, nursing homes and spas.

Maria Ochman was voted for by 36 delegates out of 45 voters. The head of the NSZZ Solidarity Health Care Secretariat was awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit by President Andrzej Duda for her merits in social, trade union activities.
The Congress was attended by the Chairman of the National Commission of the Solidarity Trade Union Piotr Duda, Health Minister Adam Niedzielski, Deputy Minister Piotr Bromber and Professor Dariusz Dudek from the Office of the President of the Republic.
She spoke about the fight during the Covid-19 pandemic for higher rates for paramedics, allowances for nurses, orderlies or sanitation funding, as well as the huge role of nursing home workers, where there have been no raises for years, in an interview with Solidarity Weekly.
Maria Ochman is a sociologist, therapist-turned-therapist; she has been a member of the NSZZ "Solidarity" since 1989. Since 2002, she has served as chairwoman of the National Secretariat for Health Care of the NSZZ "Solidarity".
