The Council of Ministers has adopted a regulation that determines how to determine the additional remuneration of those who are part of medical commissions that adjudicate the degree of fitness for military service. This includes nurses or paramedics. The Council of Ministers adopted a decree amending the decree on medical commissions adjudicating the degree of fitness for military service of persons appearing for military qualification, submitted by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense.

The regulation provides for changes in the composition of district and provincial medical commissions. The commissions in question are those that adjudicate the fitness for military service of those who appear for military qualification.

Key solutions

  • The ordinance's provisions have been adapted to the amendment of the Homeland Defense Law, replacing the composition of county medical commissions with medium health personnel - a nurse or paramedic.
  • In addition, the requirement for a commission member - a doctor at a county medical commission - to have a specialty will be abolished. The requirement for a commission member - a doctor at a provincial medical commission - to have a specialization in a specific medical field will also be abolished. These solutions will help ensure that there are an adequate number of doctors on county and provincial medical commissions that adjudicate fitness for military service.

The regulation specifies how to determine the additional remuneration of those who are part of the medical commissions that adjudicate the degree of fitness for military service. This also applies to nurses or paramedics who are appointed to county medical commissions. In addition, the new regulations provide for an increase in the maximum amount of remuneration of individual members of the medical commission for each day of work at the commission.

Key solutions

  • The new regulations specify how to determine the additional remuneration of those who are part of medical commissions, including nurses or paramedics. Thus, the Council of Ministers' regulation of May 13, 2022 on how to determine the additional remuneration of those who are part of the medical commissions adjudicating the degree of fitness for military service of persons appearing for military qualification, as well as employees of middle health personnel assigned to district medical commissions, will be repealed.
  • There will be an increase in the maximum rate of remuneration for individual members of the medical committee for each day of work on the committee. This will apply to the rates for:
    • chairman of the commission - an increase from PLN 899 to PLN 1,000;
    • doctor - an increase from PLN 764 to PLN 800;
    • psychologist - an increase from PLN 600 to PLN 700;
    • nurses or paramedics - an increase from PLN 557 to PLN 600;
    • secretary of the commission - an increase from PLN 476 to PLN 500.
