In Israel, the first case of influenza (known as flurona), i.e. simultaneous infection with the influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2, has been confirmed. The double infection occurred in a woman who had not been vaccinated against the Sars-Cov-2 virus or the flu.
The woman has recently had a baby and is in good condition, with no serious symptoms and will soon be discharged home. - As experts speculate, there are probably more similar cases, but they have not yet been diagnosed - says Dr. Karolina Krupa-Kotara from the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the Department of Public Health in Bytom, Medical University of Silesia in Katowice.
