The President of the Medical Research Agency, Prof. Dr. Wojciech Fendler, approved the ranking list for competition No. 2024/ABM/4/KPO. There were 16 applications, 10 of which were recommended for funding for a total amount of 162,675,628.52 PLN.
The Polish Clinical Research Network, with these new centers, will include 33 centers across the country. The modern Clinical Research Support Centers will be established, among others, in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Lubuskie, Małopolskie and Podkarpackie provinces. This will eliminate the previous "white spots" on the map of Poland and provide all patients with equal access to clinical trials.
The goal of the Polish Clinical Trials Network is to give patients access to the latest therapies, which often offer a chance to halt disease progression or recover. Thanks to the new centers, Polish patients will be able to participate in large international clinical trials without having to travel abroad.
The competition continues the Medical Research Agency's efforts to develop specialized clinical research centers.
