Recruitment for medical faculties with negative PKA opinion halted

The case involves nine universities that began training in the 2023/2024 academic year after receiving permission to establish these studies following a negative opinion from the PKA, as well as two majors that would begin training from the 2024/2025 academic year.
The ministers agreed that these majors will not get seat quotas, which means that they should not begin enrollment at the university. A final decision on the future of the studies will be made after the preliminary results of the PKA inspection, which should be ready in mid-June.
- Our position is that the preparation of universities to teach anything is sanctioned by PKA accreditation. So we accept this with understanding and are glad that someone has started to reckon with these evaluations. We hope that this is a sign of caring about the quality of education, but we are also waiting for the results of the reaccreditation at these universities," says Jakub Kosikowski, spokesman for the Supreme Medical Chamber.
