A draft amendment to the act on the professions of doctors and dentists has been submitted to the Council of Ministers. The changes are to concern the principles of financing benefits, including for the unemployed, seniors and pregnant women. The draft provides for the resignation from paying the health insurance premium, currently financed from the state budget. This applies, inter alia, to the unemployed, children, pupils, students, PhD students and trainees. These people will continue to be compulsory for health insurance and will continue to have the insured person status. According to the provisions, the National Health Fund will become the entity obliged to finance healthcare services in the field of highly specialized services, medicines for people over 75 and medicines for pregnant women.
