A draft amendment to the Act on the State Emergency Medical Services was submitted for consultation, which introduces a lower threshold for the number of specialist medical rescue teams. It is assumed that for each started 10 basic teams in the voivodeship there should be at least one specialist team, and the median time of these teams reaching the scene of the event - on a monthly basis - should not exceed 20 minutes. The composition and equipment of specialist teams will remain unchanged in relation to the current provisions of the Act on the State Medical Rescue.
Overweight and obesity are an increasingly serious problem in Polish children, according to a study conducted by the Institute of Mother and Child on a group of over two thousand eight-year-olds in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic. The results are particularly worrying, as 5 percent. the increase in the percentage of overweight and obese children compared to that recorded in 2016-2018 is significant. The high percentage of children with abnormal blood pressure is also worrying. One fifth of the boys in the study had abnormally high diastolic blood pressure. This may herald problems with hypertension in the future. The main reasons for this state of affairs are incorrect eating habits and lack of exercise.
