We want to vaccinate children from Ukraine, but there is no educational campaign

- Most often, mums come to their young patients because of seasonal infections, allergies, injuries or prescription extensions - says Wojciech Pacholicki, vice president of the Zielona Góra Agreement Federation. - Many children who come to us have never been vaccinated. Now that they have dealt with most of the matters related to their stay in Poland, it is a good time to talk to them about prevention, make them aware and educate. There is one condition - willing parents with children simply have to come to us. I tell every mother who comes to me with a child about vaccinations, I encourage them. It is estimated that only 30-40 percent of people in Ukraine benefited from preventive vaccination programs before the war. parents. In recent years, these low figures have worsened even further. It is therefore all the more necessary to ensure that in our country, the citizens of Ukraine can and would like to take advantage of the free vaccination program.

Family medicine specialists are convinced that a nationwide, wide-ranging educational campaign is urgently needed. And they immediately provide a prescription - when issuing Pesel numbers to Ukrainians, officials should inform about the possibility of vaccinating children, information in Ukrainian should be available, distributed in offices, pharmacies and clinics. It is even more worth persuading, because in Poland, compulsory vaccinations are free. For everyone.
