Jerzy Szafranowicz is a candidate for the post of deputy health minister after Maciej Miłkowski, Health Minister Izabela Leszczyna confirmed at a press conference on Friday. The head of the ministry said she would ask the prime minister to accept the candidacy.

Jerzy Szafranowicz is a graduate of the medical faculty of the Silesian Academy of Medicine. His specialty is trauma and orthopedic surgery. At

From 2009 to 2015, he was director of the SP ZOZ Municipal Hospital Complex, and from 2015 to 2016 he served as deputy mayor of Chorzow for economic affairs. From 2016 to 2019, he headed the Silesian Regional Branch of the National Health Fund.
