The only test of its kind... HIV.

A number of experts from the medical community - doctors of various specialties - were invited to participate in the campaign and appeared in short educational videos on HIV/AIDS diagnosis in selected clinical situations.
- The world has been struggling with the HIV-AIDS epidemic for more than 40 years. Although today our knowledge, both epidemiological and medical, is much richer, still no region and no country has dealt with the problem. Instead, we know that a very important part of fighting the epidemic is prevention. It is extremely important to diagnose infections, i.e. to perform HIV tests," says Dr. Anna Marzec-Boguslawska, director of the National AIDS Center, in a release.
As he stresses, the performance of the test, in certain cases, should be initiated precisely by GPs, gynecologists or others who see patients on a daily basis.
Taking an HIV test is simple. Unfortunately, people who visit a PCP's office very often do not know about it. Meanwhile, there are 28 Diagnostic and Consultation Points in Poland. One can get tested at them anonymously, free of charge and without a referral.
The campaign also produced a leaflet "HIV Diagnosis. Indications for Physicians" containing a list of disease entities whose suspicion or diagnosis should prompt a physician to order an HIV test for a patient.
