Zawód pielęgniarki ma coraz wyższą rangę. Trzeba pamiętać, że jest to profesja zaufania publicznego. Od kilku lat pielęgniarka jest w pierwszej trójce najbardziej poważnych przez Polaków profesji. Rola pielęgniarek jest coraz większa i coraz bardziej doceniana także w systemie ochrony zdrowia. - mówi prof. Joanna Jasińska, prorektor s. dydaktyki i rozwoju Warszawskiej Uczelni Medycznej.
As Prof. Jasinska emphasizes, today the nurse is a full member of the therapeutic team, alongside doctors. Nurses and midwives have greater independence than before, the ability to exercise the authority to order medications, including prescription drugs, which is particularly important in the implementation of medical services. In addition, cadres of nurses and midwives are highly competent in the system of promotion, prevention and health education.
Prorektor WUMed potwierdza, że studia pielęgniarskie od kilku już lat niezmiennie cieszą się coraz większą popularnością i ma to odzwierciedlenie nie tylko w rekrutacji ale także w liczbie powstających uczelni o tym profilu, oraz kierunków pielęgniarskich i położniczych na uczelniach już istniejących.
Dr. Krystyna Seliga, director of the Institute of Medical Sciences at WUMed adds:
Today, in the nursing profession there is room for development, career and even academic achievement. There is probably no doubt in anyone's mind: nursing is an indispensable profession. Professional, careful, patient-centered care is at a premium today. Nursing is a profession with many prospects. It is a fully independent profession, protected by a corporate professional self-government.
According to data from the Supreme Chamber of Nurses and Midwives, the number of nurses with higher education is increasing year after year.
