Due to numerous irregularities reported by members of KIF in determining the minimum wage of some employees in health care and determining the professional group according to the qualifications required for the position held, the National Chamber of Physiotherapists has prepared a guide on how to act when problems with pay raises arise .

The Act on the method of determining the lowest basic salary of certain employees working in healthcare entities obliges employers to indicate in the employment contract a professional group according to the qualifications required for the position held.

According to the Labor Code, the employer is obliged to reward all employees performing the same duties in the same way.

The scope of health services provided by a physiotherapist depends on the qualifications and is described in the act on the profession of physiotherapist.

The minimum remuneration of a physiotherapist is determined on the basis of the work ratio determined as the product of the annex to the Act and the amount of the average monthly gross wage in the national economy in the year preceding the determination, announced by the President of the Central Statistical Office in the Official Journal of the Republic of Poland "Monitor Polski". In accordance with the above-mentioned According to the announcement, the average salary in the national economy in 2021 amounted to PLN 5,662.53.

What to do when there are doubts as to whether the employer has correctly determined remuneration and occupational group?

The physical therapist may:

Ask the employer in writing to explain how to determine the gross salary, taking into account the qualifications required for a given position, based on the activities actually performed.

Apply to the competent branch of the National Labor Inspectorate.

Contact the Ombudsman for Physiotherapists.

Ask the National Chamber of Physiotherapists, describing in detail the situation related to the determination of remuneration and assignment to a given professional group.
