PPOZ: We still do not know what to do with the "pay rise act"

For over a month now, the doctors of the Healthcare Employers' Alliance have been waiting for the position of the Minister of Health and the President of the National Health Fund on the question of the “pay rise act” that raises many doubts. Instead of replies, they received information about ... referring the matter to the president of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariffs.
- Such ball bouncing is frivolous and not fair to healthcare providers who are already struggling with financial and organizational problems - comments Bożena Janicka, president of PPOZ.
Exactly on July 19, health care service providers sent a letter to the minister of health and the president of the National Health Fund, in which they informed that they did not agree with the deeply unfair distribution of funds for pay rises for health care workers. They emphasized that under-financing of the amount of funds necessary to cover salary increases in primary health care may result in the personnel leaving primary health care or the bankruptcy of already underfunded primary health care facilities.
- Meanwhile, instead of a reply (after a month !!!), we received a letter from Maciej Miłkowski, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Health, with the information that ... the matter was transferred to the President of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariffs. The letter shows that PPOZ is not the only organization that raised its objections to the "pay rise act" (there are at least a dozen such organizations and entities !!!), which should give authors to think about new, incomprehensible and not fair rules for the distribution of funds. We, as PPOZ service providers, fully maintain our position and invariably demand real coverage of the increase in salaries in primary health care. Will we wait a long time for someone to really look at the matter? Bouncing the ball will not solve the organizational and financial problems of our institutions - comments Bożena Janicka.
