In an interview with Polskie Radio, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz stressed that service in the army, especially participation in missions or other activities involving, for example, long separation from family, is a heavy psychological burden for soldiers. They need specialized support from psychologists. The helpline is intended to complement existing forms of support.
- There has not been a helpline for soldiers until now. It can't be a general phone. There is a specialized mission here. So there must be a good recognition of the whole psychology of war, the army, operations outside the borders, experiences from Iraq, Afghanistan, but also the war in Ukraine. The soldier faces serious choices. He must be supported. We will surround soldiers and their families with care," the deputy prime minister said in an interview.
