There will be no resignation from this proposal

The medical association would like to dismiss Deputy Health Minister Katharina Kęcka, but dollars (from the pocket of the most famous fugitive to the US) against peanuts that the Prime Minister will not grant this request. Since the position of the deputy head of the health ministry has not been weakened by the controversy surrounding the government's flagship and prime ministerially important in vitro program, poverty-stricken grievances about the lack of dialogue on the part of the environment towards which Donald Tusk has had ambivalent feelings for years will not tip the scales. They simply won't.

Whether they should, is another question entirely. The inadequacies in the area of dialogue and relations between the health ministry and the broader social side are polyisinel secrets, and the fact that one professional group - nurses and midwives - only occasionally (except perhaps Krystyna Ptok, chairwoman of the OZZPiP) raises objections changes little. This week the public will again hear a few words about "dialogue," this time from representatives of the communities around the mental health centers, and one can only guess that it will not be "honey on the heart." Yes, Deputy Minister Katarzyna Kęcka is also responsible for changes in psychiatry.

Of course, the matter can be looked at solely through the prism of the MZ's announcements on subsidy control: the medical self-government, strictly speaking, the Supreme Medical Chamber, evades control, "does not cooperate," and after this fact was revealed, it sent a request to the NPRM for the resignation of the deputy minister who is leading the case. Arguably, the doctors have something to hide.

The turmoil surrounding the inspections cannot (should not) obscure the broader context - such disastrous relations between the ministry and the social partners have not been seen for a long time. To say "never" would be an exaggeration, but certainly over the past several years one would be hard-pressed to find examples. If the deputy minister in charge of this sensitive area "didn't deliver," relations were rescued by the head - or headess - of the ministry. If the head of the ministry was not strong in the area of soft skills, agreement was sought by his deputy or deputies. Today, conversations with the health ministry - one hears this from representatives of various industries and circles - resemble a ghastly game of deaf telephone. Some say more bluntly - a conversation between the blind and the deaf about colors. Even if it's politically incorrect, it's difficult. It is incorrect to conduct a dialogue in this way, not to call a spade a spade. If anyone acquires doubts, they should go back to the accounts of the talks on changes in postgraduate education and the exchange of views between representatives of young doctors and medical students and the deputy minister representing the health ministry... yes, Deputy Minister Katarzyna Kęcka.

Dialogue does not mean meeting expectations, demands, demands. The Ministry has the right - even the obligation - to look at public affairs from a different perspective than individual organizations or even entire professional groups. At the same time, however, it is hard not to notice that the chorus of those who raise objections to the dialogue currently underway does not include only individual circles, individual professional groups. These voices are too numerous to be passed over. That is - one can. And this is likely to happen, which does not mean that it will happen properly. And that it won't have negative consequences in the near or distant (though not very distant) future.
