- I signed a regulation that introduces the possibility of performing a test at a family doctor, which will identify what ailment we are dealing with - whether it is RSV, flu or COVID-19 - said Adam Niedzielski during a press conference. Combo tests are expected to be available for purchase through POS in the next few days. Thanks to them, according to the Minister of Health, it will be possible not only to quickly differentiate what kind of infection we are dealing with. Confirmation of virus infection will prevent doctors from prescribing antibiotics.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Medical Chamber has presented recommendations in connection with the flu season. It is primarily the dissemination of vaccination against influenza, isolation of people showing signs of infection and special protection against infection for people from risk groups. The Council of Experts of the Supreme Medical Chamber also calls for access to combo tests in primary care clinics, emergency rooms and emergency departments, as well as for changes that would allow employees to report a short absence due to illness without the participation of a doctor.

The new ministerial team will deal with the quality of perinatal care in the field of lactation counselling. The team was established by order of the Minister of Health. The task of the Team is to prepare and submit to the head of the ministry proposals for systemic solutions to improve the quality of lactation counseling.
