- My watchword is "one self-government - effective and creative." I have divided the implementation of the goals into certain components that are important from the perspective of all doctors - not only those directly involved in the work of the self-government," stressed Dr. Artur Drobniak.

The new president of the ORL in Warsaw intends to focus primarily on systemic problems, because, he says, only in this way will it be possible to have a real impact on the conditions, the realities of the medical profession and the improvement of the health care system to make it more friendly to patients and to all health care workers.

Key among them are to be the introduction of a no-fault system, which is based on the most important pillars - prompt compensation for losses incurred, no criminal liability for doctors for unknowingly committing an error or an adverse event situation.

Artur Drobniak listed among the main goals of his tenure at the OIL the estimation of medical staff and the fight against the pauperization of the profession.

- Granting approvals for training doctors to universities that are not prepared to do so leaves much to be desired. I do not hide the fact that our profession is an important profession of public trust," stressed Artur Drobniak.

The president of the ORL in Warsaw is planning to introduce a participatory budget - "chamber locally" and the operation of a "doctor entrepreneur club", with training in business and financial accounting, bookkeeping and legal advice.

Artur Drobniak also detailed a plan to strengthen the professional liability division and proposed to modernize the scope of "Lex doctor" legal aid for doctors.

At the briefing, the operation of the department for research and analysis on behalf of the ORL in Warsaw, and also brought up to date the update of the database of contacts of doctors "Comes Chamber to Doctor". Important to the strategy of the OIL in Warsaw are to be issues of preventing professional burnout among doctors and providing them with psychological assistance. A novelty is to be the pilot program "Doctors' Kindergarten" conducted in cooperation with the Warsaw University of Medical Sciences, which supports parents-doctors in combining life roles.

As the president pointed out, currently most doctors in Poland are entrepreneurs. More than half of medics run their own businesses.

- We can support doctors, we are going to build a whole system of care for such a doctor entrepreneur, implement a system of training, introduce legal advisors, financial advisors, accounting advisors, credit advisors, that is, support a doctor running his own business with advice on how to navigate financial issues," explained Chairman Drobniak.

There are plans to establish salary negotiation teams jointly with the OZLL to represent doctors before employers and help negotiate terms of employment and compensation.
