  • Representatives of the Supreme Council of Nurses and Midwives met with representatives of the Chief Labor Inspectorate.
  • The subject of the meeting was the irregularities in the implementation of the provisions of the amended act on the method of determining the minimum basic salary of certain employees employed in healthcare entities, which entered into force on 1 July this year.
  • NIPiP informs about numerous reports that after the entry into force of the amendment, some employers stopped taking into account the qualifications possessed by nurses and placed - by classifying them into lower pay groups - despite the fact that they recognized these qualifications earlier, prior to the change in wages.
  • The Labor Inspectorate has already started inspections in medical facilities suspected of incorrectly calculating wages.
  • At the same time, the Chief Labor Inspectorate admitted that it did not have sufficient tools that would allow it to force the employer to reclassify the employee in the pay scale in each case. In such cases, it refers to the labor courts to enforce its claims.

"During the consultations on the draft act on remuneration, the NRPiP repeatedly indicated that the lack of a provision on dedicated funds for wage increases would lead to numerous irregularities and abuses. These comments, like the comments of other circles, were not taken into account in the amendment. that soon the Ministry of Health will respond to our comments and together we will manage to work out solutions that will minimize the scale of irregularities "- Zofia Małas, President of the NRPiP.
