The research shows that every third man and every tenth woman in Poland die of heart disease before the age of 64. The main reason for this is an unhealthy lifestyle, mainly smoking, lack of exercise, overweight, obesity, stress and poor diet.

In order to make everyone realize how important, but also a delicate organ the human heart is, the Day of the Heart has been celebrated all over the world for 20 years (this year it is on September 29). - This is a great opportunity to change our daily habits according to the reliable principle "prevention is better than cure"! - comments Bożena Janicka, president of the Alliance of Healthcare Employers.

What good can we do for our heart?

A balanced diet should consist in providing the body with the right amount of omega-3 fatty acids, which regulate blood pressure and have anti-inflammatory properties, and also help to lower the level of bad cholesterol (responsible for the formation of atherosclerotic plaques), and as a result - reduce the risk of a heart attack.
