The agenda included the first reading of a citizens' bill to amend the law on publicly funded health care services. The bill concerns the addition of a provision providing for the mandatory preparation, implementation and financing by the Minister of Health of a health policy program for the treatment of infertility involving medically assisted procreation procedures, including in vitro fertilization (in vitro).
The first reading of the parliamentary bill to amend the Law on Patients' Rights and Patients' Ombudsman and certain other laws has also been scheduled. It relates to the implementation of a new model for extrajudicial compensation of damages suffered by patients as a result of medical events.
MP Barbara Dziuk, meanwhile, will present the Health Committee's report on the government's draft law on certain medical professions. It relates to the regulation of the conditions and rules for the practice of medical professions that have not yet been covered by statutory regulations, with particular emphasis on issues relating to in-service training of medical practitioners and their professional liability.
A Health Committee report on the parliamentary bill on quality in health care and patient safety is also scheduled. The bill concerns the regulation of systemic monitoring of the quality of healthcare services provided by defining the tasks, responsibilities and powers of the various entities in the areas of authorization, internal quality and safety management system, accreditation and medical registries.
