- The Ministry of Health, on the recommendation of the Medical Council, shortens the validity of the so-called covid passports
- The new rules for issuing EU Covid Certificates enter into force on February 1, 2022.
EU Covid Certificates, designed to facilitate traveling around Europe, formally operate from July 1, 2021. Although Poland, next to Germany, Denmark, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia and the Czech Republic, was included in the group of 7 countries that were connected to the EU system as the first (since June last year), so far we have not implemented an effective system of their verification. Initially, the vaccination certificate was supposed to be valid for one year. This concerned vaccination in the basic scheme. In November, the Ministry of Health, based on the recommendations of the Medical Council, extended the validity of the certificates after the third dose of vaccination.
Just published communication from the Minister of Health on changes in the way of issuing the EU Covid Certificate (UCC) for vaccinated people. What changes?
From February 2022, the validity of the EU COVID Certificates (UCC) issued after vaccination in the basic scheme will be reduced to 270 days - this is one of the changes to the rules for issuing certificates. The Minister of Health issued a communiqué on this matter. The new guidelines were prepared on the basis of the position of the Medical Council.
UCC following the basic scheme
From February 1, 2022, the validity of UCCs issued after core schedule vaccination will be reduced to 270 days from the end of core series vaccination.
UCC after boost
As of December 31, 2021, the UCC process for a 360-day period from the supplementary dose intake date has started.
On February 1, 2022, the validity of these certificates will be reduced to 270 days from the date of vaccination with an additional dose.
A booster dose is given 28 days later to immunocompromised individuals whose immune response to vaccination may not have been adequate (for optimal protection).
UCC after booster
As of February 1, 2022, the validity of the UCC will be revised.
The UCC will be valid for 270 days from the date of the booster dose (currently 360 days). At the same time, the validity of certificates issued before that date will be reduced to 270 days, counting from the date of vaccination with the booster dose.
A booster dose is given to vaccinated people (those who have completed the basic COVID-19 vaccination regimen) to improve, consolidate, and extend protection after vaccination.
