The Minister of Health, after consulting the Institute of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine, defines annually, by June 30, by way of an ordinance, the amount of fees for blood and blood components issued by organizational units of the public blood service, applicable in the next calendar year.
When determining the amount of fees, account is taken of the types of costs incurred by organizational units of the public blood service in connection with the collection of blood and its components, as well as preparation, storage and distribution, as well as the average annual price index of consumer goods and services in total in the previous calendar year, announced by President of the Central Statistical Office.
According to the draft, the following fees are set for blood and its components, issued by organizational units of the public blood service:
1) PLN 289 - for a unit of preserved whole blood (PLN 275 in 2022)
2) PLN 195 - for a unit of red blood cell concentrate from whole blood (PLN 186 in 2022)
3) PLN 276 - for a unit of red blood cell concentrate from apheresis (PLN 263 in 2022)
4) PLN 587 - for a therapeutic dose of leucocyte-depleted concentrate of platelets from whole blood (PLN 558.60 in 2022)
5) PLN 1051 - for a therapeutic dose of leucocyte-depleted concentrate of platelets from apheresis (PLN 1000 in 2022)
6) PLN 1319 - per unit of granulocytic concentrate (PLN 1255 in 2022)
7) PLN 105 - for a unit of fresh frozen plasma (PLN 100 in 2022)
8) PLN 205 - per unit of cryoprecipitate (PLN 195 in 2022).
