Are we facing mass layoffs of physiotherapists?

The published draft Ordinance of the President of the National Health Fund, dated July 11, 2024, amending the Ordinance on defining the conditions for concluding and carrying out contracts in the types of inpatient rehabilitation and health programs in the scope of services - treatment of children and adults with coma, has met with criticism from the physiotherapist community.
On this issue, the KRF president sent a letter to Dr. Filip Nowak, president of the National Health Fund.
"The proposed changes indicating the inability to provide outpatient physiotherapy services at home will in no way translate into increased availability and shorter queues for outpatient physiotherapy, as indicated in the justification for the project. No increase in funding for outpatient physiotherapy services while reducing the work of physiotherapists will not translate into increased accessibility. "Unleashed potential of providers" will not, in practice, provide services that exceed the sums of obligations set by the Regional Branches of the National Health Fund for contracts in the field of outpatient physiotherapy. Subsequently, this will result in mass layoffs of physiotherapists," the letter from the NCF president reads.
Finally, Tomasz Dybek reminds us that never will restrictions on the availability of benefits improve it....
