An important highlight of the program will be three surgical robots on which participants will be able to perform surgery to remove a prostate tumor, which is currently the most common cancer in men.
- Urology as a surgical surgical field is currently the most "gadgetized" specialty. This "gadgetry" is due to the possibility of using a wide range of surgical equipment from endoscopic equipment allowing diagnosis and treatment, for example, through the urethra, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries, after which the patient quickly returns to activity, to surgeries performed with the use of an operating robot, thanks to which surgery can be associated with a better recovery, says Klaudia Korecka, MD, from the Department of Pediatric Surgery - Department of Pediatric Surgery and Urology of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Katowice, Poland.
- Operational advances, however, require specialized training, which is increasingly being done around the world with the use of trainers and medical simulators, Dr. Klaudia Korecka adds.
The second part of the symposium will be held on Saturday (17.06.) and will be devoted to the treatment of kidney stones. This time it will take the form of discussions between the lecturers. Each of them will present their pre-recorded videos of individual treatments. In addition to specialists from all over Poland, the symposium will also be attended by leading endourologists from abroad.
