In the announcement of the Main Pharmaceutical Inspector of February 25 this year. we read: "A pharmacist working in a pharmacy or pharmacy in a situation where the patient's health is at risk, is entitled to issue a prescription for medicinal products with the Rp availability category (subject to controlled measures)." This is of particular importance in the context of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Ukrainian citizens fleeing to Poland. Thanks to such a GIF decision, war refugees will be able to buy the necessary drugs in Polish pharmacies, even if they do not have a prescription.
"A pharmaceutical prescription is issued electronically and must contain the data specified in Article 96a (1) [...] and the reason for dispensing the drug. The above-mentioned prescriptions
they are realized with full payment - 100% and their recording is required. "In turn, when there is no access to the electronic prescription system and the identity of a life-threatening patient cannot be established, a pharmacist may issue a prescription in paper form.
As reported by the "Rzeczpospolita" daily, pharmacists wanting to help Ukrainians increasingly lower the prices of drugs, giving up the margin. There are cases when pharmacists reach into their own pockets and cover the costs to make a drug available to patients.
The most frequently purchased medical supplies include, among others painkillers, bandages, disinfectants. And among the preparations bought with a prescription, there are, for example, adrenaline solutions in pen.
Marek Tomków, vice-president of the Supreme Pharmaceutical Council admitted that he is proud of the attitude of Polish pharmacists.
