Health ministry suspends access to data based on PESEL number

Only authorized medical personnel issuing prescriptions (doctors, nurses) have access to medical prescription data - at least as intended. Following information that some of these individuals could misuse their data access, the Health Ministry has decided to temporarily suspend the ability of doctors to access data in practice systems based on the PESEL number. Access will be suspended until the e-Health Center launches a functionality that presents information in IKP about cases of access to patient data, the announcement reads.
