The Minister of Health, in a special announcement, informs that in connection with the new rules for issuing and carrying out the so-called annual prescriptions, which were introduced by the Act of August 17, 2023 on amending the Act on Reimbursement of Medicines, Foodstuffs for Special Nutritional Purposes and Medical Devices and some other acts (Dz.U. of 2023, item 1938), from March 1, 2024, there is an IT system (within the so-called P1 system) that calculates the amount of a drug, foodstuff or medical device prescribed on a so-called annual prescription that can be dispensed to a patient at a pharmacy. This system functions properly provided that the e-prescription is issued according to the new scheme for recording dosage information.
In earlier announcements on the matter in late February and early March this year. the Minister of Health announced a new scheme to make it easier for the e-prescriber to accurately record information on dosage regimens and duration of use.
In reference to the last of these communications, dated March 1, 2024, with the mark PLPR.454.60.2024.PR, the Minister of Health informs (and thus corrects the above-mentioned communiqué) that the original deadline for the end of the transition period in which e-prescriptions can be issued in two regimens (the current one and the new one) is extended from April 1 to May 8, 2024.
As of May 9, 2024, office software should be adapted - by their suppliers - to the new requirements, and medical personnel using these types of software should be prepared to comply with these requirements.
