How does Deputy Health Minister Wojciech Konieczny assess the ending year 2024? Which of the ministry's projects were carried out smoothly, and which will await finalization in the following year? We asked him about this during the Public Health Congress.

Some things have been done quickly. I am thinking, for example, of the issue of in vitro or the morning-after pill, as well as a significant reduction in the threat of so-called women's hell, that is, the restrictive application and understanding of the law at times when abortion was needed.

Some challenges carry over into next year. The biggest of these is hospitality. It's a situation we inherited from the Law and Justice party, huge debts of hospitals, lack of money to carry out overruns. It is also impossible to say that the restructuring of hospitals can be done in a year. I think this year has not been wasted at all. A law was created, which is largely the realization of a milestone that allowed us to apply for EU money. We are finishing various competitions, for example, in November we finished one with a pool of PLN 3 billion for the development of psychiatry and addiction treatment. We will see the effects next week, when renovations and upgrades begin. These are continuous processes that are difficult to separate by the December 31 date.
