- This center and the entire National Oncology Network is intended to serve Poles and will be a good complement to all our medical offerings, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said at the signing ceremony for the construction of the New Oncology Hospital in Wroclaw. The first patients are expected to arrive at the facility in 2028.

The investment is expected to provide comprehensive patient care. Currently, similar services are provided by as many as three different institutions: Lower Silesian Oncology Center, Lower Silesian Center for Lung Diseases and Lower Silesian Center for Cellular Transplantation. With the new hospital, it will be possible to provide treatment for oncology, hematology and lung diseases in one place.

- Across the country, cancer centers are assisting patients with special coordinators, Health Minister Adam Niedzielski wrote on Twitter. The employment of oncology coordinators is one of the key elements enshrined in the law on the National Oncology Network.

The coordinator, as envisioned by the law, is to assist the patient in the treatment process and ensure that he or she has access to comprehensive therapy in his or her place of residence. The obligation to hire and appoint patient coordinators applies to all entities included in the National Cancer Network.

- We are targeting January 1, 2024, but we are trying on an earlier introduction of this program. We are analyzing an option involving the last quarter of this year," said Health Minister Adam Niedzielski, when asked on the Guest of News program about the program of free medicines for children under 18 and people 65 and older. The minister assured that there is money to implement the program. The guarantee is a systematic increase in spending on the health care system.

- It will cost PLN 1.5-2 billion. These are serious funds, but ones that will be available within the health budget," said Adam Niedzielski.

Agnieszka Pietraszewska-Macheta, until now deputy director for Uniformed Services of the Małopolska voivodeship branch of the National Health Fund, took over as director of the Center for Monitoring Quality in Health Care in Cracow. As we read on the NFZ website, Agnieszka Pietraszewska-Macheta was associated with the Fund since 2003. She is also active in science. She became Deputy Director for Uniformed Services at the Małopolska OW NFZ in 2016. From October 2, 2020, for a year and a half, she served as director of the West Pomeranian Regional Branch of the National Health Fund.
